Prefaces dated 1869 to 1885. Various early printings - 'fifteenth thousand' etc (apparently printed 1880s-1890s), in near-matching original cloth (identical design, but cloth colour slightly variable green and some spines browned). Contents very good, bindings all holding but showing wear, with one joint repaired, small splits to heads of joints, and heads of spines chipped (max half an inch). Small nicks to spine bases and minor discolorations to cloth. Very good scarce set with chipped spines.
