[iv], 295pp. Contents very clean, with slight soiling to first 4 pages. 20x12.5cms, in the original binding of russet brown cloth, decorated in blind and titled in gilt, rebacked with the original spine laid down. Rubbed and soiled, with an effect of patina. Appears principally to be a detailed argument for judicious expenditure on railways and irrigation to facilitate the development of the cotton trade with Britain - 'by which we may render ourselves independent of the slave-grown cotton of America' - 'to the great profit of the shareholders, of the people of India, and of the public treasury.'.
