The last 12 pp consist of the publisher's advertisements for Sturgeon's works. Extensive depiction and discussion of a variety of difficult social and relationship scenarios and moral dilemmas, considered from a pious Christian viewpoint. Contents in good order, with occasional soiling, and with some dog-ear creases. Endpapers soiled and foxed, with a pencilled ownership name. 18.5x12.5cms, in the original limp brown cloth, printed in black: soiled and darkened, with a little fraying to the lower corners. A good original copy of this scarce, and larger, edition. [copac gives the dates for the 1st & 2nd edns as [1892] & [1889?], with respectively 183pp & 198pp. There is no mention of the present edition, which does not have 'Three Steps to the Altar' in the title.].
