Contents of both volumes very clean, a few pages having slight spotting to the edges. In the Historical volume, the edge of the frontis has been made good, and the single-page maps have some foxing to the edges; and in the Biographical volume there is a lightly-pencilled military ownership name to the half-title, and some foxing at the first text page. Large quarto, all edges gilt, in the original bindings of green cloth over bevelled boards, titled in gilt, rebacked in the mid-20thC. A firm, bright, and very handsome set. Very Good+.
