The title page is printed in colour on glossy paper, and the colour frontis is tissue-guarded; there are two further colour plates (all called for) in the text. Small stain at pp.14/15 (and minimally at pp.iv/5), contents otherwise bright and clean. There is slight browning to the endpapers, and the lower corners of the last five advert pages are dog-eared. No marks or inscriptions. Firm, in the original binding of brown pictorial cloth, titled gilt: front panel bright and clean, rear panel plain, spine bright, with scuffs and minimal splits to its corners, and puckering to the ends. Very nice copy of a scarce title of white man's derring-do in Africa. VG. Item #19112040
