'My Book': A Personal Narrative.

With a portrait frontis of the author, and illustrated with monochrome photographs or drawings at every opening. Contents clean, with tanned endpapers and repaired tears to the edges of pp13/14 and 15/16. An unusually detailed account of her life and adventures: she was a pro-active religious lady who was a temperance activist, and was nicknamed the 'Soldier's Friend' for her activities in support of the military in the latter part of the 19thC. (see Wikipedia). Large format, 24.5x19.5cms, in the original binding of dark green cloth, titled gilt to the spine, and a rather rubbed emblem with flags decorating the front cover. Some loss of glaze to the cloth near the head of the spine, and extremities puckered: but a good copy, and scarce. Good. Item #19142100
