London: Robert Hale, 1939. First edition. Hardcover. 157pp, illustrated with two photographs. Contents clean. Bottom edges of some pages untrimmed. Yellow endpapers. Neat ownership name to front fly. Pastedowns stained pink - apparently an effect of the glue. In the original binding of pale pink cloth, spine titled in blue and silver: slightly darkened and bumped. In the protected chipped and torn unclipped dust jacket with internal repairs: pictorial front panel almost complete. A child's tender and direct account of her days: 'With the occasional bright and happy interludes in her life, is contrasted a murk of petty tyranny and injustice.' Not a great copy, but a scarce title. VG / poor. Item #19393080
