London: Max Parrish, 1958. First edition. Hardcover. 180pp. Rebound by library, with cream endpapers. Front endpapers show faint traces of removed library labels. Small neat circular library stamp to half title page, and there is a slightly roughened patch to the head of the title page where there may have been some writing. The upper end of the Contents page was torn next to the spine, but this is now barely detectable, having been very neatly repaired with archival tape. There are some red smudges and light soiling around the first chapter heading on p.9. Text all clean otherwise, no dog-ear creases etc, and the rear endpapers are clean and bright. Text block may have been slightly trimmed by the library - it is now 17.8x11cms. Firm, in the library cloth of red and pink vertical wiggly stripes, with the printed title on a pale blue strip running up the spine. Small scuffs to the spine ends and corners. A rare title. Good.
