The Gerald of the title was Gerald Hamilton, who died in 1970, an outrageous character with an extraordinary range of friends and acquaintances, and the model for Isherwood's Mr Norris. Contents fresh and clean, in the original binding of blue cloth, firm and bright, with speckled with loss of pigment to silverfish, spine titled gilt.
