The Atlantic Telegraph.
W.H. Russell, illustrated by Robert Dudley:
Day & Son,
v, (i), 117, (i), . With the twenty-four tinted plates, the pictorial title page, and the chart (listed as a plate) = all called for. Pictorial surfaces good, although with some soiling to borders; and perhaps half the plates have a narrow strip of wear and darkening to one or two edges - having at some time been detached and protruding. Text good, with occasional minor soiling. All edges gilt. Quarto, in the original binding of green cloth elaborately decorated in gilt, and with a dark core representing a cross-section of the cable. At some time rebacked, with green endpapers, and with the original spine laid down. A good firm copy.
