J.M. Synge:

The Playboy of the Western World. A Comedy in Three Acts.

Dublin: Maunsel & Co., Ltd., 1907. First edition (first printing). viii, 88, [4] adverts, with Yeats' frontis portrait sketch of Synge at rehearsal. Light foxing to many pages, heavy in places. Laid in are 4 of Maunsel's contemporary tinted advertisement flyers, two being page size, for 'Pat's Pastoral' and 'Economics for Irishmen' (by 'Pat'), and two smaller ones for 'The Abbey Row' ('NOT edited by W.B. Yeats'), and 'The Memoirs of Miles Byrne'. In the original quarter cloth binding with ochre spine and brick-red boards. Binding firm and very clean, with a small knock to the upper corners and some bubbling to the spinewards edge of the red cloth on the front. Very Good.
