London: Frederick Warne, 1955. First edition / 1st edn. 286pp. Contents clean and unmarked. 1955 ownership details to front fly. Neat repair to front endpaper gutter. Firm in the original ochre cloth binding titled in maroon, slightly soiled and mottled, with slight fading to spine. In the protected unclipped Sunbeam-Talbot dust jacket: this is heavily worn and chipped and with stains from former sellotape, but all loss has been made good with Japanese tissue. Good in poor dust-jacket.

London: Frederick Warne, 1956. Second edition / 2nd edn. 288pp. Contents very clean and unmarked: faint tanning to endpapers. In the original fawn cloth-textured binding titled in red, clean and firm, corners good, spine ends blunted. Several pin-pricks to front and back boards, not affecting the pages. In the protected unclipped Armstrong Siddeley dust jacket. This has a chip to the head of the spine, some soiling and scuffing, and has the same pin-pricks as the boards. It has several internal repairs with what is probably 'magic tape', supposedly non-decaying. Good copy of the scarce 2nd edition. VG in G- dust-jacket.

London: Frederick Warne, 1967. 13th edition/ thirteenth edn. 288pp. Contents very clean and unmarked: faint tanning to endpapers, with ownership name to front free endpaper. In the original light blue textured binding titled in navy, clean and firm, corners good, indentations near head of spine and to the 'A' of the title. In the protected unclipped Singer dust jacket. The spine of the jacket is toned, and has chips to the ends, a hole near the top, and a little tape residue at the foot. The front panel is quite bright, but a small strip of the pictorial surface has been torn off the bottom left corner. There is some soiling and other light wear to the edges. Good copy of the scarce 13th edition. VG in G- dust-jacket.
