Charles Chilton:
Journey into Space.

London: Herbert Jenkins, 1954. First edition. 220, + [1] advert. The full-length novel of the record-breaking radio story, by its author-producer. Sound ex-library copy with a very good dust jacket. Library marks to endpapers, half-title and title page. Pages used but good, with slight soiling, but no creasing or marks. In the original red cloth-textured binding titled in black: bright and firm, with darkening to edges from former tape. The protected bright unclipped pictorial dust jacket has residue from a label to the lower spine, and is creased along its length 5mm from the bottom edge. There is a little surface damage at this crease, and the extreme edges of the flaps are slightly damaged (not losing any print) where formerly taped into the book. For the most part, the jacket is in very bright fresh condition. Lovely copy. VG in VG+ dust-jacket.

Chris Wooding:
The Black Lung Captain. A Tale of the Ketty Jay. [Inscribed copy]

London: Gollancz, 2010. First edition (first printing). 442pp. Complete numberline to copyright page. Contents pristine, appears unread. The book is not inscribed to anyone, but on the title page, Chris Wooding has hand-written a quote from the first para: "The only difference between a hero and a coward was the ability to do basic maths", followed by the date (29/07/10) and his signature. In the original binding of dark blue boards, spine titled in silver: extremely fresh, corners sharp, spine ends very slightly blunted. In the protected unclipped pictorial dust jacket: this too is extremely fresh, although the rear panel is very slightly knocked to the top edge, and a poor attempt to remove a 3x3cm price sticker from its bottom leading corner has resulted in some surface damage. There had to be something! In all other respects an outrageously splendid copy. Near Fine in very good dust-jacket.
