Terms & Shipping

If at the checkout you elect to pay by card, your encrypted card details will be sent for me to process manually, and I will not have to return to you to complete the transaction. If you choose PayPal, I will send you a PayPal request for payment: please respond to this promptly. In either case the total will include the appropriate shipping cost.  For payment by Bank Transfer or Cheque - see below.

Shipping: Orders usually ship same or next business day. Books are securely packed (appropriate to their vulnerability).

Shipping will be charged at approximate cost: you will not be charged more than the prices shown here without further notification, and in most cases you will be charged less. These prices include insurance (Special Delivery within the UK) for orders of more than £100 . If you require express service, or insurance on orders up to (and including) £100 , you will be charged for these at cost. In the event of Customs Duties or Import Charges being raised on your purchase, you will be liable for these charges.

Overseas orders will be sent by AIR MAIL unless surface mail is requested.

I accept sterling cheques drawn on a UK bank.** Cheques should be made payable to Chapel Books. Cheques need to clear before books are despatched unless customers are known to me. Very acceptable, of course, but rather laborious and not my preferred means. [**Non-sterling cheques and sterling cheques drawn on non-UK banks incur a conversion charge of £10 .]

Any item can be returned for any reason.
If you wish to return a book because it was found to be not as described, I will refund you in full for book and shipping (and possibly offer some credit by way of atonement).
If the book is as described but you decide that you dont want it anyway, you will be refunded for the book less my shipping costs.
To activate a return, you should first contact me within a week of receiving the book. Returns are strictly conditional upon your packing the book carefully and securely so that it reaches me in the condition in which I sent it.

n.b:  all items are offered subject to prior sale (although I do my utmost to avoid this being an issue).

Institutions and libraries billable. Trade discount to bona fide dealers.
