Pages have light foxing to the prelims and final leaves, and occasional spotting throughout the text. Small name stamp to front free endpaper. Firm, in the original binding of green cloth. The upper board is sunned along the top edge, and the spine is sunned and spotted, with a 1cm split at the head of the upper joint and slight fraying at the spine ends. The author was a notable journalist and author, educated in the West, but deeply involved with Chinese politics. A good but unlovely copy of a title now scarce. Good. Item #19282100
